Here are some ideas to do at home to  help develop your EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

  • Planning and organising

Play games together such as cards, UNO or board games. Read together and tell stories.
Try fixing or mending things that are broken, work together on a simple project such as fixing a bike or building a compost heap in the garden. There are always things that need repairing that you can help with eg bikes, toys, dripping taps, replacing bulbs, sewing buttons etc.
Kitchen – sort cupboards, clean, plan menus, write shopping lists go online compare prices at different shops, order food online, store food, cook together and eat together.
Recycling – plan shopping to minimise packaging, sort used packaging into recycling bins, use the colour coded bins correctly, check timetable for collection and put the bins out.
Laundry – unmake/make beds together, collect laundry, set the washing machine and put out clothes/bedding on the washing line together.
Bathroom – tidy, clean and fold/store towels.
Clean windows inside and out using natural vinegar, a bucket and water, use a squeegee and sponge.
Garden – if you are lucky enough to have a garden there are multitudes of jobs to do even a small yard, veranda or window sill can be improved by litter picking, sweeping, removing weeds, planting seeds (simple herbs such as parsley, basil or coriander).
