College Update for Sixth Form Students
Back to article list

4th February 2019

Following our successful coffee morning in December our Sixth Formers have all completed and sent their applications for their college place for when they leave us at the end of this year.

Our students have applied for lots of different courses with a focus on becoming independent, gaining work experience as well as a focus on specific careers such as Childcare and Mechanics. As they nervously await letters from the colleges some have already been invited for interviews and assessment days. A big congratulations to those students who have already attended their interviews and have subsequently been offered places on their chosen courses.

The first student to secure her place was Ninjlah. Ninjlah’s dream has always been to work at Manchester Airport. Ninjlah has successfully gained a place on Manchester College’s Supported Traineeship based at the Manchester Airport! Ninjlah will go straight into a work placement alongside staff at the airport as well as continuing to work on her Maths and English skills with college staff in weekly classroom sessions.

Congratulations also go to Candice  and Tanisha  who have secured places at Manchester College studying Childcare and Abdoulie who has been accepted to study Sport and Active Leisure at Manchester College.

Good luck to the rest of our students as they attend their interviews and assessments over the coming weeks!
