In design technology, Key Stage 3 are involved in a community project with Manchester City Council Bereavement Services making 30 bird boxes for Gorton cemetery. The aim of the project is to increase the population of birds such as the house sparrow, wrens and blue tits in Manchester.

This is due to the fact that there has been a 65% decline in the population of small birds. Manchester City Council have provided all the materials for us to complete the project.

After all bird boxes are assembled we will be painting them and students have been invited to choose which trees they would like to put them on. Thank you to all staff and students involved with the project.
