LZ1 Science Groups learning about Plants

Over the last half term science students from LZ1 have been learning about plants. One particular aspect we explored was how plants reproduce and that they can be propagated. Having gained a good understanding of how to do this for a number of different plants we were able to propagate over a hundred plants from only 12 ‘mother’ plants. The 3B, 3C and 4E groups stood out as incredibly ‘green fingered’ in their efforts, with Leo taking the title of Master Gardener for his incredible understanding and great care he showed when handling plants.

Linking the concept of plant propagation to careers we discussed the idea of selling our new stock but decided to be philanthropic and donate to our Sixth Form’s COOP project.
