Melland High School’s Multimedia Studio is a purpose built Media studio accessible to all students and staff. We provide a creative space that you can discuss group project work in an informal but productive space. In addition, we have a dedicated creative and technical team who can advise, support and offer training to ensure that you get the most out of the studio facilities as well as supporting creative practices across the curriculum.
The Media Studio has a thriving loans service of digital recorders, video cameras, stills cameras, iPads and a wide variety of other digital equipment that students need for the range of project work they do at school, including production exercises, creative assessment and performances.
The TV Studio
Our TV studio is equipped with three professional Sony HD cameras on tripods, and is designed to give students maximum flexibility when producing news bulletins. Students can also work on their film and new media projects using one of our editing suites, all equipped with the latest FCP video editing software and Photoshop image manipulation software.
Our Studio also offers audio recording space for budding new musical talent, our students and staff can work with professional musicians and a voice coach and can participate in our school choir and ‘Rawchestra’ as part of our after school activities. Students can also gain an Arts Award for their creative work.
Assistive Technology is an important part of the work we do, the studio can offer students a wide range of assistive technology tools to make learning more accessible and fun. Using iPads, Sound beams, switches, assistive apps and adapted musical instruments.
