Students from Melland High school have again, had a most fabulous start to the school year in PE.
The new year 7 cohort are enjoying the variety of sports and opportunities on offer to them such as swimming, cycling, outdoor pursuits and working with coaches from MCFC.
The Melland High School sixth form volunteers have also been brushing up their skills this term, completing 2 more awards to add to their ever growing list of exciting training.
Not only are the girls football team excelling in their team work and skills, but they were also asked to attend an event at the incredible new facilities with the Sports Minister Tracey Crouch.
On the same day, 6 specially selected students were part of a once in a lifetime experience where they took part in the Olympic and Paralympic Parade in Manchester City Centre. It was an absolutely amazing event that all students and staff were hugely thankful to be part of. The thousands of people lining the streets, the atmosphere from the crowd and the other people in the parade was infectious and our students did us proud.
Also our G7 PMLD group have been accessing the hydro pool every week for aqua aerobics and working very hard with their country dancing session in the pool.
There’s much to look forward to in the next half term, including a group of students taking part in a Christmas Table Cricket competition at Lancashire County Cricket Club.
