Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium

 

Year 7 Catch Up Premium 2017/18

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).We expect to receive £10,500 to support and extend the achievement of our 21 eligible pupils.

The funding will be used as a contribution towards;

 

  1. Targeted interventions for Year 7 pupils by SALT (Speech & Language Therapist)

Details

Following the successful outcomes generated by this intervention in previous years, the decision was taken to repeat the programme with Year 7 pupils 2017/18.

Expected Outcomes

Improved individual progress in Reading and across all strands of English, including early communication, demonstrated via termly monitored and evaluated individual targets (see: year 7 English tracking grids 17/18).

 

  1. Development of maths skills via the supported use of on-line learning tools for Year 7 pupils

Details

Mathletics on-line maths programme is a motivating and exciting way for pupils to extend their maths skills. Support has been delivered on a 1:1 and small group basis by TAs under the direction of the class teacher.

Expected Outcomes

Improved individual progress in Number and across all strands of maths, including problem solving demonstrated via termly monitored and evaluated individual targets. (See: DATA\MATHS\2. Assessment\Mathletics Downloads).
