Shakespeare Workshop at the Contact Theatre
Back to article list

30th September 2016

It has been a busy first half term for some of our Key Stage 4 actors and actresses. Rehearsals are going full steam ahead for their upcoming performance of Shakespeare’s “Tragedy of Macbeth”.

Students have been learning about the brave Scottish general named Macbeth and the trio of witches in English lessons. The Shakespeare play has been adapted and characters have been assigned to students from 4O, 4U and 4R.

The students have been rehearsing hard in lessons, in tutor group and at home.

This week they also spent a morning at The Contact Theatre for an acting workshop with other schools involved in the production. Shakira thought “the workshop was really good”, Saracen agreed saying “it was great to work with other schools” and Abdoulie said “it was a very nice building”

We are very excited to see our students perform Macbeth in The Contact Theatre on November 3rd 2016.
