29th April 2016

Our year 14s are now entering the final term of their time at Melland and the pressure is on as they wait to hear confirmation of a place at their chosen colleges. After a busy year completing applications and attending interviews and assessments days as well as completing their studies here at school, the first bits of good news are trickling in.

Manchester College delivered the news last week that four of our students have been accepted onto their Supported Traineeship which will put them straight into a work placement. We congratulate Daniel Hutchinson, Lisa Bell, Robert Morrison and Michael O’Donnell who were all successful following a nerve wracking interview process.

We also congratulate Daniel Hussain and Xavier Georgiou who have been given places at their chosen colleges to pursue careers in Catering and Media respectively. I’m sure that there will be lots more good news to follow as the rest of our year 14s complete their assessments.

As we enter what is certain to be an emotional and very happy final term for our year 14s we have lots to look forward to. Stand by for an announcement in the next few weeks to find out when the much anticipated leavers party will be, get your suits and dresses at the ready!
